Here at the Internet Glasses Company we pride ourselves on going the extra mile, communicating with our clients even if we don’t see them face to face, and providing that special service you all deserve for your eye care. Tidying through our orders from last year, here are the stand out jobs that we enjoyed the most…….
Evelyn’s son e-mailed us prior to his Mum’s eightieth birthday cruise to Norway. This was a lifetime ambition and she wanted to be fully prepared. Her bifocals made her nervous of walking confidently, especially up and down stairs. They ordered some try-before-you-buy frames, so Evelyn could check if the lower edge of the specs would get in her way. We made them up with single vision distance lenses, going light and dark in the sun. This gave her a large clear lens area to use, protection against glare and UV, and a rather stylish pair of specs for the holiday photos! We even got a postcard from the Fjords!
A gentleman called Brian phoned us, having found our website on a friend’s computer. He didn’t feel net-savvy enough to order online, but had seen a frame he liked, a close replacement of his original specs which his Optician no longer stocked. A fax and a few phone calls later, we dispatched the glasses, and he’s ordered a spare empty frame to keep for future use. We were looking forward to chatting to him every day by the time we got the order completed!
Mary had given up knitting as her varifocals made it tricky to see the pattern and the intricacies of her work. After some checking of her working distance and discussion on options, we made up a light weight close work lens to keep the weight down, with an anti-reflection layer to enhance vision as much as possible. These are specifically for her favourite hobby, and her knitting is in full flow once more!
Extra pairs for specific purposes are a pleasure to deal with – we love being the answer to your prayers! We can usually suggest a low cost, effective remedy to problems, so mail us any time – and we’ll look fondly back on your order this time next year!
